Yo, what’s up? All you beautiful people? Today, I want to share with you what I think might be the secret weapon on your entrepreneurial journey. If you want to unlock your full potential, move towards your greatness. You want to build an amazing business that transforms lives. It starts here. Start with this. Start with your health. Start by getting into the gym. Start by exercising.

Start by working out. Here’s why, and I say this. I just got done with a workout. Just got done lifting, and I feel amazing right now. But as I was in there, I was reflecting on why it is. I believe lifting is the gateway drug or the waterfall habit from which it knocks down everything else. It’s the domino, the lead domino. If you knock this one over, it makes every domino in your life easier and easier and easier.

Every goal becomes easier when you’re in shape, when you’re healthy, when you’re feeling good in your body. I know that it can be very difficult when you’re busy, you have kids, you have the stress of work and of your business and your employees and your customers, all the things in life that want to get in the way and take you away from managing your health. But I’m telling you, if your life is not where you would like it to be right now, if your business is not where you would like it to be, if you look in the mirror and you do not see the person that you would like to be, if there are things about you that you’re like, I don’t like that. Start by dialing in your physical health. That could be going to the gym and lifting, that could be doing, you know, cardio, that could be finding an activity, a game. You know, for me, the things that I like to do, I like to do brazilian jiu jitsu. That helps me, that works a lot of the different systems you have muscular strength, aerobic flexibility. I play tennis, which is great for all sorts of things.

It’s great as an old man activity to keep working on that hand eye coordination. I like to lift a. Those are kind of the things that I like to do. And then I like to go rucking, which is just walking around with a really big, heavy backpack on. But whatever the thing is for you, you need to figure this out. And there’s a couple of reasons I was reflecting on this while in the gym. There’s three reasons in particular. I think that this is the most important gateway habit that will make everything in your life just that much easier.
Number one is when you’re in shape, when you go to the gym, when you’re working out, you have more energy. You have more energy. And energy is the fundamental building block upon which our life is created. When you have high energy, high quality energy, you feel fantastic. You can run through walls, you can solve any problem. The days, they feel so good, the problems, they don’t seem that big. Life is better when you have high energy. Conversely, when you’re sick and you have low energy, or when you got a really bad night’s sleep, you drank the night before.
Let’s say you wake up and you just don’t feel that good, right? Like, you might not be zero energy, but you’re not your highest and best perky self, right? Life gets harder when your energy levels are low and you’re sapped. And again, maybe on a long enough timeframe, you would say, I have pretty good energy. But even on the day to day basis, your energy levels will go through these ebs and flows. And for me, even overall, I would say I have great energy 98% of the time. But when I’m working really hard throughout the day, my energy level starts to dip. That’s totally normal. You only have so much you can pull out of the well at any given point. If I need that boost, getting into the gym for that workout helps me recharge that battery.
I can go back to the woodshed and keep chopping wood after that. It’s amazing how. How by spending energy, we make energy by taking care of prioritizing our body and taking care of it and making sure that it’s optimized and humming along at peak efficiency. Everything else just gets so much easier. So that’s the first one, is energy. If your energy levels are not where you’d like them to be, then you should get this dialed in. I promise I’ll make everything easier. Okay, 3rd, 2nd thing is your confidence.
I. The lowest confidence I ever have is when it’s been, you know, when I’m starting to slack on my eating and my exercise and my sleep, and I start to feel like I don’t belong, like I’m not worthwhile. There’s certain things, like I’m not. It’s not necessarily even being reflected in the mirror, but I feel it in my body when I’m not moving around. I kind of shut down and go into hibernation mode. I go into malaise. I start to question, what’s the point of all this? I start to have doubts. And that’s crippling for an entrepreneur that needs to have utter conviction in what they’re doing.
You are the chief belief officer for your team. You’re the one that has to imbue and distort reality and help them cast a vision for what the future could be that does not yet exist. And that is why you guys are on the path you’re on, right? You have to have that belief. And when your confidence is hurting and your belief is waning, your team will feel that. The times when I feel the most confident is like, right now, I come out of the gym, I feel great. Right now. I got blood going. I got my energy going.
I feel confident. I just feel confident. It makes everything easier because I go into it believing I have the capacity to find the answer. And when you believe that you have the capacity to find the answer, no matter what, you will inevitably find the answer. If there’s doubt, if there’s any doubt, there’s no doubt. Right? So start there. Get your confidence, go to the gym, get workout, get, you know, feel good. All right.
The third reason that this is the domino that makes every other domino fall in your business and why you should be prioritizing this. And when I say prioritizing, I’m not saying, like, three times a week, that is not enough. Your body is your temple. It is the vehicle carrying you through this life. You should be prioritizing it every single day. You should be working out 30 to 60 minutes every single day. I’m not going to tell you what to do on your workout, but you should be moving it every single day. It’s not just three or four times a week.
It’s not even just, you know, five times. It’s every single day. How do you move this, this miraculous thing that you have been gifted and how can you take care of it and you don’t take it for granted? Well, you use it every single day. The third thing, then, that makes this so powerful is the discipline. You become a disciplined individual when you prioritize going in and taking care of your health. It is. And if you can be disciplined with that, there is nothing in this life that you cannot be disciplined with. And yet, like, there are people who are not in great shape who also have discipline.
They also have confidence. They also have energy. They have all these things, but they could have so much more if they had this dialed in. And the truth is, when people meet you for the first time, if you’re not dialed in with your health, people will assume. They make an assumption, whether right or wrong, fair or not. They will make the assumption. First impressions matter. They will say, oh, that person doesn’t take care of their health, therefore they don’t have discipline, therefore they don’t care, therefore they’re lazy, or they can’t be trusted with these other things, right? And that might not be true, but that’s the message it sends to people.
And the most important person that it sends the message to is yourself. When you show up every single day and you get into the gym, you do the workout, even though it’s hard, because going to the gym, it never gets easier. You just get better. The weights never get lighter. You just get better at lifting them. Right. When you show up every day and you cast that vote for the person that you say that you are, and you act in alignment and you are consistent with this identity that you’ve crafted for yourself, you are saying, I am the disciplined person that does what I say. I do.

I’m capable of doing hard things. I keep my word. I show up. I do the hard thing, even when I would rather not do it. And it shows in the physical manifestation of your body, and it shows. And how you show up for people, and they will see it, they will feel it from you. And that on its own, barring the energy, barring the confidence that you get, I would say the discipline, the belief, the identity that you establish for who you are as the person who shows up and does the work, I think is the easiest way because you get to see the physical results of your labors, where a lot of times, what we do as entrepreneurs can take years to see the fruits of our labor. In the gym, if you go in every single day and you work out, you get an exercise in every day for the next year, you will be a different person in one year, capable of things that you can’t even imagine right now, because youre body will utterly transform and it’ll be capable.

It would go from being, you know, a Toyota Prius, which I drive, and it’s fine, to a, you know, a Ferrari. It’s completely different, completely different vehicles. So I encourage you, please, please, please take care of your health, not only for yourself, but for your family, for your customers, for the world at large. You can only pour out from your full cup. So fill your cup. Take some time for yourself today. Get out. Go work up a sweat.
